Email and password

Change your email safely, rotate your password, and switch between Google and password sign-in.

Identity changes are deliberately slow and deliberate. Every one requires verification on both sides of the change.

Change your email address

  1. 1

    Open Settings → Security and start the email change.

  2. 2

    Confirm from your current address.

  3. 3

    Confirm again from the new address.

  4. 4

    If you sign in with a password, enter it as final proof.

Why both addresses

Two-sided confirmation means neither a typo nor an attacker can silently move your account to an address you no longer control.

Rotate your password

Changing a password revokes every other session by default. If a browser somewhere had stale credentials, they die with the change.

Use case

Suspected credential leak

Goal
Assume the password is known and rebuild trust.
Scenario
A service you reuse passwords on announces a breach.

Steps
